JOSHUA CHIN
I’m Joshua Chin, a Kingston-born cinematographer based in Los Angeles. I studied Film and Television at Savannah College of Art and Design, where I found my love for building images and telling stories.
I’ve worked across camera and lighting departments as a DP, camera operator, focus puller, gaffer, and AC. I specialize in underwater filmmaking and action cinematography, and I love being hands-on, solving problems, and figuring things out when a shoot inevitably goes sideways.
As a DP, I’m drawn to stories with something real at the center and directors who care deeply about what they’re making. I love building the visual language together through references, lighting, lenses, movement, and all the little details that turn an idea into something you can actually see.
Outside of filmmaking, I’m usually hiking, reading, training, watching football, or finding an excuse to be outside. I think staying curious about life can make anyone a better storyteller.
If you’re making something you care about, I’d love to hear about it. Let’s grab a coffee, talk movies, and make something great together.
